Ingredients
- Oysters:
- Butter Sauce:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- ½ tsp hot sauce
- ¼ tsp smoked paprika
- Toppings:
- 1 cup grated Parmesan or Romano cheese
- Fresh parsley (for garnish)
- Lemon wedges (for serving)
Instructions
- Prepare the Grill:
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (400°F). Make sure the grates are clean and well-oiled.
- Clean and Shuck the Oysters:
- Scrub the oyster shells under cold running water to remove dirt.
- Carefully shuck the oysters, leaving the meat in the bottom shell. Discard the top shells.
- Make the Butter Sauce:
- In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the minced garlic, parsley, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, and smoked paprika. Cook for 1–2 minutes until fragrant, then remove from heat.
- Assemble the Oysters:
- Place the shucked oysters on a rimmed baking sheet to transport to the grill. Spoon about 1–2 teaspoons of the butter sauce onto each oyster. Top with a generous sprinkle of Parmesan or Romano cheese.
- Grill the Oysters:
- Place the oysters directly on the grill grates. Close the grill lid and cook for 5–7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the oysters are just cooked through.
- Serve:
- Remove the oysters from the grill using tongs. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.
